Welcome!

John Giacchi is a music educator, drummer/percussionist, and sound engineer.  He has over 20 years stage and studio experience, and has performed with The Warwick Symphony Orchestra, the Beneficent Congregational Church Praise Band, the CCRI Chamber Singers, and the University of Rhode Island's Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble,  Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and University Chorus.  Additionally, he composes his own music and maintains regular nightclub and wedding gigs in the RI, CT, MA areas with his bands LBP and The Brohemians.  

 

As a music educator, John has taught private drum lessons for 15 years to students of all ages and abilities.  Additionally, he has served as a summer camp councilor and youth band co-director at Beneficient Congregational Church in Providence, RI.  As a father of two (ages 3 & 5), John also has vast experience with young children.  He has further honed these skills at The Curious Child Daycare in Cranston, RI as an early childhood music teacher for students 18 months to 5 years old.  He completed his student-teaching at Agnes Little Elementary School in Pawtucket, RI with Donald Dupre and Exeter/West Greenwich Jr. & Sr. High Schools with Gregg Charest.  

 

John graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Rhode Island in December 2015 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  He also holds Associate degrees in Business Management and Accounting from Quinebaug Valley Community College and is the proud recipiant of the Ed Drew Memorial Scholarship and the Ferko Endowment Scholarship.  John continues his musical training and has studied drums and percussion with Keith Aleo, Michael DiPippo, Kyle Forsthoff, Charles Kalajian, Steven Langone, Robert McEwan, and Christopher  Smith; piano with Kirsten Mitak; and voice with Mark Conley.
